Abstract The research aims at clarifying the concept of information technology governance and studying the possibility of using Cobit 5 as one of the frameworks of this governance and studying the effect of applying the concept of governance to the risk gap in electronic information systems. The research idea emerged from the continuous developments facing different business organizations, To perform these tasks and the subsequent challenges and risks facing the use of this technology, which is in line with the competitive advantages of the business organizations, this was the reason for conducting the research to try to reach the application Governance 2 and business organizations take advantage of the rapid technology and the pursuit of the gap between expectation and reality. The researcher used a questionnaire on a sample of investors and workers in private educational institutions as one of the models of business organizations that use information technology permanently. The questionnaire was applied to a random sample of 140 individuals. The questionnaire aims to know the views of the research sample on IT governance And its effective role in addressing the risk gap and its impact and its implications, the search resulted in several results, the most important of which is that the use of the concepts of information technology governance leads to a lower risk gap and what is actually in the electronic information systems in addition to the ability to take The appropriate decision and the maximum utilization of available resources and their effective use. The researcher recommends adopting modern concepts such as learning by smart phone, e-book and other concepts that prepare investment and raise the profit
