ABSTRACT
Current Study aim to know the effect of contrast the accounting treatment for revenue and cost items on the usefulness of financial statements in the construction sector, and this can be achieved from studying and analyzing many problems of contrast the accounting treatment for revenue and cost items in the construction sector represented in: contrast ways of estimation inventory, contrast the ways of depreciation, estimation provisions, treatment borrowing cost, contrast allocation indirect costs, contrast the ways of revenue recognition. And studying the effect of contrast the accounting treatment for revenue and cost items on the usefulness of financial statements in the construction sector. Using a sample of 25 corporations listed on the Egyptian exchange from Real estate sector depending on discretionary accruals as Measure of financial statements usefulness, the study find many of negative effects on the financial statements usefulness in construction sector.
